Carbon is an essential building block of life. Everything organic is made up of carbon. As a raw material and as an energy source, it is also essential for the production of numerous materials. We are currently largely dependent on fossil carbon, with the result that a lot of CO₂ of fossil origin ends up in the atmosphere.

At the same time, we have enormous amounts of organic waste streams that also contain and emit carbon. Perpetual Next's mission is to convert these waste streams, through specific processes and technologies, into the highest possible sustainable raw materials, fuels and energy. In this way we reuse this carbon and give low-quality waste a high-quality application. And we contribute to a circular and fossil-free world and to achieving climate goals.

Perpetual Next consists of three different business units (BUs), each with their own focus and expertise.

BU Conversions

Developing and acquiring plants where low-quality organic residual flows are converted into bioheat, biogas, green gas, liquid CO₂ and fertilizers. This involves working with a wide variety of residual materials.

Biocarbon

Produces renewable carbon from fibrous organic waste streams, including waste wood, using carbonisation technology that Perpetual Next has developed and optimized for production on industrial-scale.

Developments

Development of proven technology to convert sustainable carbon, via gasification technology, into sustainable raw materials and fuels such as biomethanol through gasification of biocarbon.
